My Franken Sommer Trip-2017

I'm with Mads here -- and I think most of us are in some way. Would you still go to Spezial Keller, Roppelts Keller, etc if they served beer from Wagner Oberhaid (or beer of that quality)?

In my mind, location, setting, friends and those things move the "enjoyment level" up a notch (or two). So a boring beer is fine in the right place or with the right people. An OK beer becomes great and a great beer becomes out of this world. But I don't think anything could make me enjoy a flawed beer.

And there is a bit different dynamic if you are a visitor touring rather than somebody living in the area. The visitor is (often) going to multiple places and there is less tolerance of flaws — “this beer is a diacetyl bomb, on to the next place.” And if you are in a group, that group is problem traveling with you where as a “local” you run into people you know and you may hang around a less than perfect beer because of them,

And BTW, I took the “4000 beer’ comment to be “I know German beers” rather than bragging... Cut non-native English speakers some slack...
