Unlimited 1 oz samples is not the norm at US beer fests.  You almost always get 2 oz and often 4 oz, depending on the State.  Splitting hairs, perhaps, but 2 oz is twice as much as 1 oz, and since they are unlimited, just drink 4 x 2 oz if you wish.
