It was interesting, I guess. No tears though.

But then the era ended here over two years ago, really, as my last batch was summer 2015. I'm now working my way through the last few bottles remaining in the Keller.

I brewed basically two recipes: pale "half-IPA" (3.6%) and dark brown "half-India Black Ale". The latter might be like a ridiculously over-hopped dark mild, also 9°Plato/9%Stammwürze/1.036 OG. Had the last bottle of the dark the other night. Was lovely. A couple years of ageing really mellowed the excessive hoppiness out. It was quite enjoyable.

Recent drinkings of the half-IPA have been more challenging. I brewed mostly with Polaris at the end, which I really don't like so much any more. And at 2 years old, these are still very, very hoppy. I drink one and it's like, "what was I THINKING?" What I like in low-gravity ale has changed with the huge amounts of time we've spent in England the last 3 years.

If I were to brew now, it would still be low-gravity session ale, but likely old-school hops like Chinooks and Goldings. And normal amounts, not throat-stripping!
