World of Craft Beer and local breweries on the Cape

Okay now meandering way off topic.

I am finding that many of the new breweries that open up around here don't seem to really know what they are doing.  Case in point is the fairly new Devil's Purse Brewing Co. here on Cape Cod.  Opened about 1 1/2 years ago.  First visit their beers were not good.  Didn't even taste like the styles they were pretending they were.  ESB that was nothing like an ESB for example.  Just a bad pale ale.

Revisted yesterday and they've come around.  Beers tasted good and roughly what I'd expect of the styles they were labeled as.  Clearly they have benefited from experience.  The other Cape Cod brewery that has been around for over 10 years that we visited next is really brewing excellent beers now and nothing fancy.  Porter, IPA, pale ale, and a stout.  All well made and very tasty.

The world of craft beer is definitely nuts right now.  But some of the breweries will mature and produce excellent beer.  As always, I'm optimistic about it all.
