 Just opposite the Hübner brewery, making fine, plain Franconian beers, makes a trip to up-hill Wattendorf worthwhile.

 It was a long drive from Bamberg, thru narrow,winding roads,uphill. The food was very good & the bier was even better, a light, golden brown helles. The braueri was newly renovated...very modern,new furniture, glassed-in sunroom,etc. It holds about 300 persons & was full, with customers constantly walking thru the door.

 The food portions over there are unbelievably huge - the beers are superb! We tried the dark beer (very malty, toffeeish, great!) and the Hell (well balanced). The dark one is among the most pleasant beers in this region, I think!
