The beers that I have tasted were, clean and sweetish with nothing particularly Franconian about them.

Beautiful brewery tap, called 'Bräustübl'. We tried the dark beer, the Vollbier hell and the Pils. All of them are brewed in the typical regional style. The water in the Fichtelgebirge flows over granite and is very soft. That softness is the main character of a Fichtelgebirgsbier. Comparable to the beers of Brauerei Hütten.
