Forchheim breweries worthwhile?

Of the three breweries, not all of them may be open in the afternoon.
Hebendanz and Greif are usually open mid-afternoon, in my limited experience.
Neder is a good traditional tavern for meal and beers.
Greif has a pleasant little bier garden out front. And nearby in the shopping centre, there is a shop selling bottles of Franconian beer from many breweries.
For visits to Forchheim I would normally recommend a visit to the Kellerwald. But how many kellers are open, if any, is dependent on the weather and time of year (mid Sept may be OK, if the weather is still warm).
Another good trip from Forchheim is to the Kreuzberg kellers. There are many postings on this board about this.
