Lagering in Keller

I did a tour of the Bamberg Kellers on the Berg a few years ago. I would've said 5 degrees was about right. I honestly don't know if a lot of them are even that cold though. It'll depend on the aspect and how deep they go. If they needed ice then I'm guessing some may not be so cold, but I'm not sure, as even 5 degrees would be too warm for lagering, but possibly fine for storing finished beer.
