I agree wholeheartedly Jason, It is one of the biggest (no the biggest} fault re Franconian/German "Pubs".
I recall walking about 3 miles to a place (and it started to snow!) Somewhere near Auffess? clearly advertised as open,to find the hand scrawled note on the door saying roughly,I cant be F******d to stay open. There was a nice round heavy rock on the ground.Never have I been so tempted.
