| I remember you bringing a full selection of beers for us to try, the first time we stayed in Forchheim. The idea was to demonstrate different types of hops and it was quite an eye opener for us! I particularly remember the last beer, which used New Zealand hops - very astringent, if I recall! It was a sort of taste of the future, as so many of the beers that I taste in Wales use American and new world hops. Really, they are not to my old-fashioned taste, so I'm interested in your final comment. I wouldn't call Chinook an old-school hop, as it is relatively recent (1985) but, certainly, Goldings, EKG and Fuggles - and, yes, normal amounts! |
