| Heckel out as hard a brewery to get to by bus & train as I can think of. Though I've not thought of every single one. It's quite remote. Use www.vgn.de to plan your trip based on possible dates and times. Looks like over 3 hours each way. OTOH, it's a lovely, though long bike tour up the river from Ebermannstadt. Either this route with strenuous uphill climbs, or this 2-hour route along the river. I think most people on here have driven or been driven there. It's an hour+ for me in the car each way, I've only driven there once. But I'm not a fan of tourists driving to breweries here. Especially as a part-time cyclist myself. |
