Take a train Nick - like you suggested, take Becki and stay in RodT. I'm thinking about going to Spielbach on Saturday. I can take my bike and cycle from RodT. I have a job 5 days a week and yet 3 hours one way (from Bamberg) is not something I mind doing. Because it's a special place. I can do things on trains; read, watch something or just listen to music. I could eat or have a beer or two. I can then enjoy an afternoon/evening in the pub and leave RodT latest around 10pm (though 8pm is liklier). That's easily time for 4 or 5 beers. If you don't want to go, fine, but you have always expressed an interest and for someone who apparently does so much on holiday it seems a bit odd not to make a trip somwhere EVERYONE on this forum has unanimously praised. If you were willing to take the drive for 1 beer surely the train for 3 or 4 beers makes it more appealing. |
