Flights through FRA (and just a bit on Manchester Beer & Cider Fest)

I took a tunnel on the way to Manchester last week, but it wasn't un-marked or anything, it was the normal way to go. Pretty lights, music, and moving walkways, right? Have you also had to go through actual security (body scanner, empty pockets, what's-in-your-bag) there or just a passport check? Like I said, I can't recall ever having to go through actual security checks on EU-UK connecting flights before.
