I was trying to remember the name of the guy who founded Ringwood and now remember that it was Peter Austin, who trained Al Pugsley (who I had never heard of). There is an obituary to Austin, who died in 2014, by Roger Protz, that you can find at: https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2014/jan/09/peter-austin Protz claims that Austin was involved in the founding of 140 breweries worldwide, including 40 un the USA. Perhaps he does merit the title of' 'father of the mircrobrwery industry'? |
