If you don't go to Merkendorf (Wagner and Hummel) and Forchheim (4 breweries but specially the wonderful Neder), you are really missing out. All the town's mentioned have fine breweries but, in these two towns, you have a lot of choice and all of it pretty good. And both easy to reach from Bamberg. I could add a few more but, really, the choice is so vast, it's better simply to reconcile yourself to a few visits and work your way around. It's actually quite hard to find a bad brewery but one piece of advice, don't think about beer types, just go and drink whatever is on offer! |
