Quite so Barry,I suspect that you often struggled to keep the 6X from the wood in drinkable condition more so than the stainless casks? where they firks,or kils? My own personal opinion is that there is no perceivable taste benefit in serving from wooden casks.and it is just another affectation.and in fact the chances of buying an infected stale pint of beer from a wooden cask are very great. stainless became popular for very good reasons,and not just to provide production cost benefits to brewers. |
