Evil TeKu

That's sad to hear. I found Oregon & Florida to be TeKu-free last year, and then Greenville (SC) & Nashville to still be TeKu-free this past spring. It's a silly thing thought up by a couple of Italian "craft" beer pioneers, IIRC, and has somehow spread all over Europe.

It's bad for a couple of reasons: First and foremost, it spreads and supports the idea of this "new American-inspired, non-traditional beer" as being some fancy, exclusive, fine-dining thing. Which, OK, it *can* be in the right circumstances, but not just a basic pale ale or porter, please.

Second, it's impractically small: How do you pour a 330 or 500 ml bottle of "craft" beer in it? And then the overly long stem.

Traditional Belgian beers in their traditional goblets and wine-like glasses, that's OK. It's tradition. But this is a newly-invented affectation. Pity, pity, that it's taken such a strong hold in Germany, the poor masses.

We do use the couple that we've got from festivals as wine glasses. Proper Belgian beer glasses...I've got enough of those.

There. I feel better now.
