| It's very generous of you, Nick, thank you muchly for your concerns! I didn't mean to make so much of our travels; we're kind of used to it now. When the apartment in Leipheim was available, with a visit to Hirschbraue, it was actually pretty good, and staying in Burgau didn't work out too bad. An old friend from Leipheim came over and brought some bottles (an Oktoberbier from Hacker whatsit that was drinkable, a Dunkles from - can't remember - also ok, and a Hell from Autenrieder, also ok) and we had a nice night. It takes an age to get to Dublin from here: by car, it's just a hassle parking at the airport and very expensive. By bus, we have to drive 25 miles to Ennis and take train or bus, which adds a minimum of 4 hours and makes 05.55 out of the question and the 11.05 flight pretty difficult. With the 17.55 flight, we have to get from Nue to wherever, probably arriving in the middle of the night. I won't go through all the return variations but each one has a problem of some kind, all making SNN - FMM the least worst option, even with the pretty awful service now enjoyed from DB. If we are still here when our next visit looms, I will seriously consider flying to Manchester, staying with the relly's, and flying to Nue. But... cross fingers! |
