Base in Regensburg? Nice city but we weren't madly impressed with beers on offer but it was 8 or 9 years ago. Kneitinger pretty decent, with a charCterful town pub and a lovely garden and stube out towards the uni. Bischofshof big commercial brewery, OK but nothing special, Spital very pleasant in summer but you'll be there in winter? You should get a chance to try their IPA. For me, best remembered for our first visit to Eschawo, every detail of which is clearly etched in my memory.
