Do you think a place as big as that could survive on lager alone though? In Portland?

There's an old "German" restaurant with bar in Portland, Gustav's. Looking at their menu, they seem to have pared down the Oregonian micro's quite a bit, having only one now ...yes, an IPA. Twelve German beers, mostly Munich. And Coors Lite and Stella!

My point WAS going to be, a German restaurant/tavern in Portland has to have Oregon beer on, and I was going to cite Gustav's and how there are several on there, as many as they have German beers. But that seems to have changed. There used to be 3 or 4, but maybe they've replaced Full Sail Amber Ale and Black Butte Porter with the two draught ciders. I don't remember cider being on there.

I remember once there, sitting at the bar, an older guy who looked right out of Las Vegas including bad hairpiece and gold chain around his neck, asked for "Bud" and proclaimed, "if you don't have Bud, you don't have beer...none of this 'raspberry crap'!" I just shrugged.

Been thinking back on Oregon recently, after my fortnight there over a year ago (!), my first visit in a decade. If it weren't for the impending Cascadia Subduction Zone event, it might be a place for Mrs & me to consider living again. Not Portland, no, that's changed too much, but back to sleepy Corvallis. But then there's the dog-unfriendliness.
