No problem in managing a day trip for Friday sept 2. Depart from Bamberg at 9.36 and every hour after, takes either 2.39 or 2.59, depending on departure time. Return up to 21.58 for day trip (see dB site for exact details). Travel together and share a 28 euro card, and enjoy some of the cheapest (and purest) beer in Germany!
