For the AST (different to the ALT in Bamberg) You have to pay two parts:
- 1. the regular ticket
- 2. the surcharge
You can buy both at the taxi driver.
Or You have a regular ticket for the connection (p.e. a Tagesticket), than You have only to pay the surcharge. "Fahrkarten ... werden für die AST-Fahrt anerkannt." means: regular tickets substitute the first part for the AST-drive.

But I can understand Your confusion: "werden anerkannt" is maybe a little bit misleading (also for Germans). it would be better to add the sentence, that You, if You have already such a regular ticket, You have only to pay the surcharge.
