I have to say I've massively gone off zly casy. Too many beers and the quality of some of the best beers in the country is inferior to what I've had in other places eg. Privni pivni tramway. Now my opinion as a visitor isn't always fair, but last time i was in prague a few months back i had a few beers with max bahnson (local beer blogger) and I recall he at least in part agreed. Of course you should make your own mind up. Also, these beer geek bars and other such places I'm not a huge fan of. Often overpriced they also don't 'feel' like Prague. Too many western concepts flying around; too many taps, extreme beer styles and high abvs. As Mosquit said, visiting some of the traditional PU pubs is much more rewarding - U Hrocha being a favourite of mine. Anyone can turn up and pour a heap of beers and charge a premium but these places take an average beer and make it great. As the Czech proverb goes, "the brewer brews the beer, the barman makes it" (or something like that). |
