Unless i'm missing something with regard to your comment Barry, there is a replacement bus service running to lichtenfels which is perfectly adequate. As I'm sure you know this operates as if it was a train so Bayern Kartes are the cheapest form of travel for groups of 5. Not tricky at all ;)
