Travel from Frankfurt airport to Bamberg

Have had this connection a few times (changing from another train at FFM airport). You can also take an ICE or IC from the airport to Würzburg, which may be considerably faster (esp. if you get one that bypasses Frankfurt Hbf). That is however a lot pricier unless you can get a Sparpreis, but that is linked to a specific ICE/IC, so no flexibility.
The trip you describe is flexible (every hour) and cheap. You do not have to get off in Kahl.
