| This is exactly the difference in attitude towards drink-driving between the continents. It was studying up for the drivers licence test (coming from Oregon, I only had to take a written exam, not a behind-the-wheel one) that opened my eyes to the subtle differences that do exist between driving here and there. You grow up driving in one place, and your instincts and reflexes adapt to that. Get into a different environment, and your instincts and reflexes are challenged. Stump those with jet-lag and alcohol...... |
