| Visited Brauerei Scharpf with some beery Brits by car last weekend. Though it's a way out (near Seßlach) and very difficult to reach by public transport, I recommend it to anyone ever in the area. I really enjoyed the naturtrüb Mätzen and the Bock was really excellent. There seemed to be a young apprentice Brewer (his fathers meisterbrief was the only one I could see so assume he is training) was serving alongside what must have been his grandmother - a real matriarch. Anyway, if you like malty beer and a very traditional Franconia feel this place has both in abundance. |
