Dogs in pubs

Nick you know that I've no real problem with dogs in pubs.  Some of my best friends and relations bring their dogs to pubs!  It's correct to say that legislation does not ban dogs from any public kitchen - there's a good summary of the situation at [http://www.saferpets.co.uk/can-i-keep-dog-hotel-premises.html].

A domestic kitchen servicing a B & B would certainly fall under the legislation and you would be liable to inspection from the local authority.  There's an interesting point made in this article, which I think sums up the situation:

'Naturally, other general concerns must also be taken into account, such as the dog’s behaviour, especially towards the guests, general safety and issues such as guest allergies.'

And this is one of the problems with dogs (and other pets) in public situations.  Often (probably, generally), it's not the pets that are the problems but the pet owners who don't make any attempt to control the pets behaviour.  You know, pet owners are like many parents, they simply don't think that their beloved pet/child is not everyone else's favourite companion.  This is one of my reasons for not really liking children in pubs - it's down to the parents who fail to exercise any control (something that is really prevalent in the UK but less so elsewhere).

So, don't serve bacon & sausage!  There's a big market for meat free B & B's!
