I wasn't too impressed with the lace in aufsess itself, very food orientated but the was OK, if not anything special.  It's a nice pull up to kathi brau but easily manageable and its a lovely place with an excellent dunkles. We didn't do the rest of the walk but I remember that the beer trail was very well signposted. Second juergen's suggestions both super places and interesting beer
