| We left in August 1986. We lived in Bath until 1990 before moving to Bristol. I continued to play Irish music in the Bell on Suinday nights until around 1988, then we moved the session to the Ring of Bells in Widcombe. In our days, the Bell was a bit more austere from what I can see of the present incarnation but it was always a real characterful pub, with a significant history (in the last 40 years for music), which seems to have been a bit forgotten now. I love the Star, which we used to visit on our occasional night's off and there were some cracking other pubs in the city. Are you the Steve T of GBGG? If so, we all owe you a great thank you. |
