No time this trip for Erlangen -- plus I've got a (small) group. Anyway, the IC Bus from Nürnberg to Prague was uneventful. I would take it again. Back in June I had my first Urquell in a while (in Atlanta) and to me it tasted like a melted stick of butter. Had one again in Düsseldorf last week (at Schalander) and I got thru half a glass (.4l I think) before I couldn't drink any more. Here, my firest beer was an Urquell at a tankova pub by the hotel (a Lokal). Not as much butter, and I finished my .5l mug but one was enough. Now I used to like PU. I had no problems drinking it here in 2009 (or at least that I remember and I would remember that). Has the beer changed that much or have I just gotten that much more sensitive diacetyl? Of the 10 other beers we tasted there were two that I could not drink, mostly because of butter (one also I think had a dirty line -- a problem I was warned about for Prague Beer Museum) Anyway, it could be a long week In all fairness I should say of those other 8, two were excellent, two very good and the remaining four quite drinkable. |
