OT: Another Prague request... - "Cheyne" |

Still surprised that somebody recommends "Chýně", or "Cheyne" as wrote here. From my remembering the quality was great in 2005-2010, later I wasn't there so often (just a few times per year) but quality started to decrease significantly. Yesterday I had a chance to try their "12", i.e. Lager, and their "Ale". 12 was very unattentuated (this was the common issue for their beers, that also corresponds with low ABV). However beer didn't have any extraordinary problems, just it wasn't "balanced: I would say. In overal I would rate it 4/10 (where 10 is the best).. "Ale" was really poor - again typical for their beers, they brew it in this way for several years. It is not at all the issue of brewing itself, but more related to fermentation process and yeast I think. So it tasted acetone-like, acetaldehyde-like, mold. 1/10. There is still many people (on bikes, etc.) in the brewery restaurant (also I also recommend the choose the "Krčma" in the backyard, if you will go there) who enjoys the beer, "because it is from a small brewery, so it has to be different than from big brewery". |
