Footage of brewing at Hennemann with its kettle from the 1940's, made of steel from army tanks(!), as well as on-site brewing by Manfred the Metzgerbräu chap. Lots of silliness about Adam Riese, the Bad Staffelsteiner mathematician who invented some sort of reckoning board, and how it can be used (or not) to reckon various things about the weather and beer...or something, I didn't really pay attention. Also, there's this little video about "Bierparadies Bad Staffelstein", with its 10 breweries for a population of 11000: http://www.br.de/mediathek/video/gerstensaft-staffelstein-bayerntour-100.html . Obligatory footage of Metzgerbräu and Staffelberg Bräu, but also a bit about how hops aren't being grown in Oberfranken any longer, and the local cooper, as well as a few seconds of Adler's Biergarten, one of 20 Biergärten (plural) in the Bad Staffelstein community of villages. |
