Landbierparadies will open another tavern with Biergarten right near the Nordostbahnhof (U2, R-Bahn to Weißenohe & Gräfenberg) in Nürnberg by December. (Streetview) So, yay! Prices at the 260th Erlanger Bergkirchweih are up to 8.50 € / Mass (on average, assumedly, I've not yet been up in person to check...some early afternoon this week...). (Rather dark news is that a guy died on the street there last week, apparently had some sort of seizure and fell over, perhaps hitting his head in the process.) Landlords along the "Fünf-Seidla-Steig" between Weißenohe and wherever-else have had to put up signs asking drunken revelers not to wee in people's gardens or be generally obnoxious. Sounds like it's going the way of the Rail Ale Trail by Stalybridge.
