| David is a very friendly, outgoing chap, and I like him. But not his beer. IIRC, I had some of whichever-beer-it-was that you had on tap, before I ever met him. It was...not good at all. He accepted my answer that "I don't buy bottles of extreme beer at high prices" when he first offered me his beers at Die Bierothek, and understands that I come in for 2,80€ bottles of Orval or other NORMAL ale or lager. He gave up trying to wow me with this or that Danish extreme beer, too. Beer tourists visiting Bamberg who are only interested in TRADITIONAL beer should not be dissuaded from visiting Bierothek because of discussion of extreme beer there though -- he has had very interesting, rare (AFAIK), traditional German stuff as well. |
