Meusel

Hello Gerhard,

thanks for the inormation concerning Meusel.
I also know this beer menu because I lived in Meusel area for two years and sometimes I called Meusel to get a Kasten from their truck ;)

The "old" sorts (you got them perhaps until in supermarkets very very cheap) are Pils, Hell, Märzen and Fest. Some people compared these beers with Oettinger because they were very cheap und tasted only average or under average (also today)...

Many of the other beers from the ratebeer liste are very very good.

My favorites (like yours, Gerhard) are Kupferstich, Keller and Landrauchbier.

Once I heard that every trainee of Meusel has to make his own sorte before his education is completed.

Perhaps the sorte "Zenngründer Landbier" was made by an trainee from Zenngrund. The "Coburger Art" from an Azubi from Coburg. The "Lichtensteiner Schwarzbier" from a trainee from Hassberge, where Lichstenstein castle is.

I think those (partly) very special and good sortes they could sell in special pubs and stores, but not for very cheap prices to regular customers in villages from their trucks.

In Berlin their was the Frankenbier-Connection until 2011 (?), owner was a man from Bamberg, he sold beers from Franconia in the "Schillerkiez" in Neukölln. Sometimes he had Meusel,  I can remember that the Berliner beerfreaks bought the Meusel specialities with pleasure. Here I drank my first Meusel Landrauchbier...

Wasn´t it an idea to sell Meusel Kellertrunk in any beer pubs?
