Four bottles, that is, which I will be giving away at the London Drinker CAMRA fest tomorrow. I shan't name them here, since I want them to be a surprise, and the recipient might well be lurking here (Ian of Kent). So there's that. Was in Nieuwpoort Friday evening, and then we've been in Broadstairs, Kent, since Saturday. Off to the fest as a day-trip tomorrow, with a bit of a pub crawl around that part of London. Kentish beer, aside from sugary/watery Shepherd Neame, is fine. Nothing too crafty though, please! For Barry, the most local micropub, 39 Steps Alehouse, is apparently run by a Northerner, as his choice of beer is Lancastrian and Mancunian. And the new "craft" pub in Ramsgate had the lovely Marble Pint on last night! (No sparklers.) |
