| Hey guys... Stumbled upon this forum while planning our upcoming visit to Franconia (and having found you all I suspect that I'll be asking a question or two between now and June), and just wanted to add my two cents as somebody who's chatted with several of the folks at Urban Chestnut. As I read that quote, Wolfe was distinguishing the "local" model of American craft beer from the national/international model of the megabreweries, and explaining why he thinks it should thrive in Bavaria. I don't think he was suggesting that it was a uniquely American phenomenon that is unknown in Germany. Anyway, it will be interesting to see how it plays out (and if other American craft brewers follow suit). |
