I hope that you won't be disappointed if you opt for Leipheim - it's a nice little town and I became very fond of Hirschbraue, which is a very modest little place, with excellent and cheapish Helles and Dunkles. Also quite cheap and huge meals - the famous 6 eggs and a big mound of roast potatos for around €6. It's only a couple of minutes walk from the station (just past the Hotel Zum Post, which I believe is a bit pricey - Leipheim is the nearest rail stop to Legoland). There's a highly recomended brewery in Neu-Ulm (Schlossle, which I haven't tried) and Radbrauerei in Gunzburg, which makes very standard but drinkable beers. There's also Schlossbrauerei at Autenried, which I have visited - very smart, food orientated but very average beer. There is a fewo shown at [http://www.leipheim-ferienwohnung.de/html/lage.html], situated in Weissingen, which is between Leipheim and Neu-Ulm but not on the rail. Also a few in Gunzberg, which is only 1 rail stop. Just found a website [http://www.leipheim.de/index.php?selected_page_id=1571], which shows a few possibilities. |
