I go back and forth with Ott. Sometimes, I just love their Export, despite excessive CO2 from the keg at Café Brazil here in Erlangen, but other times, it is exceptionally bland. The Dunkel, however, has gone downhill -- every bottle I've had in the last couple years or so has been a bit stale and just...not quite right. Used to be richer. I suspect that's when they changed from hops (either pellets or flowers) to extracts. It's one thing to argue about pellets or flowers, quite another thing to argue for hop extracts. |
