Is there anyone who is really familiar with Munich Hbf - I mean really, really familiar, not just having been through it a couple of times, as most of us will have been at some time or other? During our journey to Eschawo next Saturday, we have to change trains at the Hbf - the Memmingen - Munich train (RE 47409) arrives at 13.41 at Gleis 28 and the Munich - Regensburg train (RE 4258) leaves at 12.44 from Gleis 27 (thence Regensburg - Eschawo). This is only a 3 minute transit time. I've looked at the station plan and can't work out whether the 2 platforms are on the same aisle or whether it is necessary to use the underpass. This is quite important as J.'s mobility is still a bit impaired. I know at minor stations (such as Buchloe) that DB hold trains but not sure if this is true at a major station, such as Munich. It makes more than a 2 hour difference to the journey time as the next connection involves a different route and means that we don't arrive in Eschawo until 18.55 - bit tricky for shopping, as shops don't open until Monday. Any suggestions happily considered, even taking a 2 hour delay in Munich and strolling along to Augustiner! |
