Nick,    With you on the smoking, but there are now nonsmoking places,mainly the more progressive places. And of course there are plenty of place with outdoor space. Just spent 6 days i Karlovy Vary, and its not realy a destinationfor beer tourists. Theres a fairly fodoriented brew pub with reasonable beer and an excellent place with tank Pilsner. Didnt getthe chance to get out into tge country as I had other priorties. Lovely town though. Now for Bamberg!
