Hi Mosquit, Yes, I agree it definitely is tourist-friendly, but sometimes tourist-orientated places can be useful! I had read on Pivni Filosof's blog that there were issues with the quality, and I know only too well that too many taps can be a problem, but I was happy with the beers that I drank. (In the 1970s, when CAMRA had just started and a few English pubs were beginning to compete on the number of real ales that they sold, The Sun in Lamb's Conduit Street in London had 16 hand pumps, most of them obscure regional ales - but you were guaranteed a pint of vinegar from almost all of them!) Incidentally, you recommended Dno Pytle a little time ago and we went there at about 19:00 on Monday 9 June, but it was closed! It looked a bit like the Marie Celeste - an empty beer glass and some change were on the tables, but it was definitely closed and there was a note on the door with a message finishing with a sad emoticon. We didn't have an electronic gizmo or dictionary to translate from Czech to English, but we figured that some emergency must have forced its closure for the day. A pity, because it really looked like a place that we could have stayed in for the whole evening. Hopefully things are back to normal. |
