Not quite helping re bottles but if you go to Domazlice you should visit Pivnice Koutské Pivo, a pub that serves the Kout beers on draft. I must say I haven't been as impressed by the 10 as some people but that's what happens when things are hyped up (ratebeer). The pick of the bunch for me is the tmave (dark), it's one of the best dark lagers I've had. As an aside and following on from Mosquit's original point, Prague is becoming one of the best cities for beer in my experience with a wide variety of traditional pubs, brewpubs and multi taps serving some wonderful Czech beer, both traditional styles and more modern interpretations. Plus there are a number of interesting day trips from Prague to some excellent brewpubs, Uneticky / Chyne / Antos are fairly straightforward and the beer (Antos and Chyne in particular) is outstanding. The PET bottles are a great idea and seem to retain the freshness better than glass - perhaps this is down to freshness and a lack of filtration plus the quality of the beer, my experience is unfortunately limited. Just my shillings worth. |
