| Sounds like a good trip and a good base in Drosendorf. Merkendorf has always been a favorite of mine and I concur that Wagner is slightly better - though it is so marginal it really isn't relevant and certainly doesn't reflect on the quality of Hummel. Looking at their website it seems Hummel have accommodation in the village so perhaps a good base for those looking for a country break rather than the hustle of Bamberg. Shame about Drei Kronen but I have had similar experience and haven't been in for years (even when in Memmelsdorf). I'm off to Bamberg this Friday for a week before heading to the Oberpfalz. Weather looks pretty good (if cool) after Saturday so hopefully it won't interfere with Keller opening. Also, I will now be in Bamberg on July 25th (I booked the wrong dates!) but will be at the Annafest on that day but may venture to Abseits when I return to Bamberg. |
