Johann Hölzlein was the youngest brewmaster in his year transition class at the Doemens academy in 2011 and the best of this year. He has made his apprenticeship at Andy Gänstaller (Beck brewery in Trabelsdorf, 2008 to 2010). His elder brother works at a big austrian brewery (Stiegl). https://www.facebook.com/johann.holzlein?fref=ts The Hölzlein bock (first brewed in automn 2012) was a success. They have brewed the same bock in spring 2013, automn 2013 and now. Father and son have argued / disccussed about the problem of cannibalism, costs etc. So the bock is "only" a stronger version of ther Vollbier (the same ingredients). His father is now very proud about this success and his son. After the first batch of the bock he has told me, that he loves the bock, but "now it's enough innovation"). So I like to hear, that they will brew another "innovation". In the view of conservative country brewery is is innovative, revolutionary, that they expand their range. But I don't know if the Pils will be a regular beer or only a first attempt or a seasonal beer. (I can ask if I meet the father again). The brewery Hölzlein has a new Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/brauerei.hoelzlein?fref=ts presumably the work of Johann Hölzlein. Maybe I will have some bottles of the Hölzlein Bock in may, because I have storaged some cases. And if it is possible I will offer their Pils in bottles or in KEGs for some weeks.. |
