| So, the sack I ordered from hobbybrauerversand.de arrived nicely in a box, so my concerns about it arriving schmutzig were unfounded. A couple €s more than I used to pay at Weyermann, but then I figure the value of my time to drive up there and back... Also have some new Polaris Hopfen for today's batch. And some Pacific Gem from Kiwiland. The latter are being used as bittering, the former for a 60 minute hop-stand. That's another new thing I'm doing these days: no flavour additions at 15 and 5 minutes, and less bittering at 60 minutes. Instead, a big dose of hops at flame-out (or induction-off in winter!), which stands for 60 minutes before chilling. Seems to be the hipster thing. Nice effects, too. |
