Bug!

I stayed at the Buger Hof hotel ten years ago -- it's a pleasant walk along the river into Bamberg as an alternative to the bus. The hotel bar had a reasonable selection of local beers and was OK for a night-cap on the terrace, but a hotel bar is always going to be a hotel bar! Friends of mine stayed about the same time at the camping site in Bug, where the bar had a good selection of Bamberg beers -- when the guy who ran it went home in the evening, he told them that it would be self-service from then on and they could settle up in the morning! But Bug is definitely on the quiet side compared to the bright lights of Bamberg.
