Gaustadt to Bischberg |

| We're strongly considering booking a fewo in Bischberg (Zur Sonne) but I'm a bit concerned about the transport. The Bus 906 to Bischberg stops around 7 pm and the 938 only runs as far as Gaustadt after 7 pm. Has anyone walked from Gaustadt to Bischberg? I know it is only just over 2 kms but I seem to recall that the road was a bit tricky (no pavement - sidewalk for non-English English speakers!). There is a cycle track along the Main but that takes you a bit out of the way and might not be suitable in the dark and with a few beers on board! I asked Don S. about this because he stayed in Bischberg but many of you might also have some experience of walking from Gaustadt to Bischberg. Also, does anyone know if the hinterland of Bischberg - i.e. away from the Hauptstr - is hilly or flat. Of course, someone might fancy a cycle trip up there to act as a scout for 2 elderly forum members! Zur Sonne is a very attractive proposition. |
