I suppose that Gerhard's explanation throws some light on the curious situation at Gold Ochsenbrauerei, Spielbach.  When we were there with Juergen in 2012, he asked the waiter for some bottles to take away and was then interviewed by Frau ? (the elderly lady who runs GO) as to whether he was a fit and proper person to be allowed to take bottles of the golden nectar away!  Eventually, she decided that he could take some but only a limited number (of which he kindly gave me a couple - they were delicious).  Presumably, she was concerned whether the bottles would be returned and only consented when she recognised Juergen from a previous visit! Sadly, of course, my bottles were not returned and constituted a loss to the enterprise (of €0.30?).
